SY JESSICA provided a senior loan for the development of 25,750 sq ft of manufacturing/business space across fifteen units at a site that used to comprise the former Hickleton Colliery in Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire.

The units range from 1,250 sq. ft. to 4,000 sq. ft., and total approximately 26,000 sq. ft. The units were built to a minimum BREEAM Very Good standard.

The development is a strong fit for both the Sheffield City Region Growth Plan and Barnsley Council’s Barnsley Core Strategy, providing a significant number of jobs to the Region and seeing the redevelopment of brownfield land.

The development was carried out by Priority Space, a development company which specialises in creating commercial real estate accommodation for the SME sector. The company’s developments to date are built to good specification and with sustainability in mind, often achieving BREEAM, EPC and Secured by Design accreditation.
